Simple prostatectomy (benign disease)
For men with very large benign prostates and severe outlet obstruction, a transvesical SP simple prostatectomy may be discussed when anatomy fits. See the simple prostatectomy page for selection notes and literature context.
SP adrenalectomy
Removal of adrenal tumours with the SP platform is described in the world literature. Current published data includes approximately 342 patients across 5 retrospective series worldwide (as summarised on the clinical source page). Suitability depends on tumour size, laterality, and anatomy.
Selected bladder and ureteric procedures
Bladder: selected SP bladder procedures may be offered where the anatomy and indication are suitable for a single-access approach.
Ureteric reconstruction: selected ureteric reconstruction in adults may be feasible where a distal ureteric stricture makes single-access reimplantation an option.22
